Your First Visit

At the first visit to our office, a complimentary panorex X-ray and photographs will be taken to determine the best course of treatment. The initial examination includes a review of your medical/dental history, a clinical exam and an estimate of the treatment fee. Once this has been established, further records will be requested, which will include articulated study models and a cephalometric (profile) X-ray.

In the case of a TMD (temporomandibular joint disorder) exam, a fee may be applied. Please call the office for more details.

Consultation

After the doctor has evaluated all your records, we will discuss your treatment with you in greater detail, answer any questions, and finalize the financial arrangements.

Regular Appointments

The appointment to place your appliances (braces, expander, etc.), usually takes between one to two hours and is normally scheduled in the morning. You will then see us at regular intervals 2 to 8 weeks apart for a check or adjustment, which normally takes 20 to 40 minutes. Our regular office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Monday and Friday, and 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday through Thursday. Patients are seen by appointment only. We make every effort to be on time for our patients, and ask that you extend the same courtesy to us. If you cannot keep an appointment, please notify us immediately. Canceling appointments may extend your treatment time and is not recommended. It is difficult to reschedule, since most appointments are made several weeks in advance.

Payment and Office Policies

Cost

The cost of treatment depends on the severity of the patient’s problem. You will be able to discuss fees and payment options before treatment begins. We will finance your fee at zero interest. We also accept assignment from most insurance plans, and file the necessary papers to the insurance company.

Fees

In an effort to keep orthodontic fees down while maintaining the highest level of professional care, we have established this financial policy:
  • If payment is made in full, a fee discount is offered.
  • To fit your individual needs, financial arrangements can be made to extend your payments over a period of months.
  • For your convenience, we accept payment by VISA, MASTERCARD, DISCOVER and AMEICAN EXPRESS.
  • In cases of serious delinquency, treatment may be discontinued, although we will make every effort to accommodate patients with temporary difficulties.
Insurance

If you have insurance, we will help you to determine the coverage you have available and for your convenience, we accept assignment of insurance benefits in most cases. We will help in every way we can in filing your claim and handling insurance questions from our office on your behalf.
